You Know The Rodeo is in Town....

You know the Reno Rodeo is in town when you see, what I assume is a rodeo clown in line at Costco. It has to be...who would go out like this?

Why?

Of course I forgot my camera this day, I had to take this photo on my phone, but I think we can all see that this is a lady on a lark in the drive through at the ATM. Why didn't she go inside? Can you do that on bikes? The door on the bank fits wheelchairs, I'm sure it fits larks. Ummm.... At least I got a good laugh about it!

COWS!!!

A few years ago we were on our way to the worst lake ever, Camp Far West - we only caught 1 fish and it it had a huge tumor growing on it's head and the bathrooms were those gross metal ones - yuck, but there were cows there. We let Gracie out to play with them and she had the time of her life. She loves cows!!! She sees them and barks at them constantly, she tries to herd them and eats grass like them - she LOVES them. She can be sound asleep and smell them and wake up, start looking around and barking trying to get their attention! It is so funny. Duane put a black and white blanket over himself and crawled around the living room mooing, hilarious. Well I was driving back from Vegas with Gracie and she was sound asleep until she smelled the cows...she was barking and whining trying to see them and look - we were following them. I laughed my head of for about ten minutes and then was annoyed and had to pass the cows! She's a great dog!

Making Desert

I thought it would be a nice idea to make desert one night...bad idea. I love chocolate covered strawberries so I figured I would give it a whirl! It started out messy and ended up being even messier. I ruined a few Tupperware containers, but trying to melt the chocolate in them in the microwave. Bad idea, I burnt the chocolate and melted the Tupperware. Finally I got it kinda right, but then EFF ed it all up by putting them in the freezer to "harden" the chocolate. They got mushy! Duane was a a good sport and ate a few, but next time I am just going to buy them!

Unprofessional Agency BMT

So I have been communicating with BMT Promo Models about a job in Sonoma for NASCAR for a bit now. This morning I received a phone call saying can you do it, oh good, please fax over the paperwork within the next half hour. It's important. Well, when the "agent"- termed used very loosely didn't know his fax number and then had to be notified when I faxed the paperwork, I was a little concerned... They have three different pay schedules in their agreement. Then they needed to know where I lived, where I was staying and all that. I told him, got through all the rigmarole and then I get an email seriously 1 minute later and they canceled me. So unprofessional - don't ever work for them. bmtpromo.com BOOOOO

Me and Bentley

My sister and Jeff, her husband, brought my niece Bentley up to Oroville for Duane's tournament. She was hot and sticky but was a trooper! Jeff and I taught her how to drink a beer, it wasn't open though!

Bowling

We went bowling I only lost my two point or pins or whatever you call them. Duane was making fun of how cute I looked!

A Day At The Lake

Today we took one of the neighborhood kids wake boarding with us. Sheldon did a great job, I mean the water was like 40- something degrees. (I gave up cold water when I quit Sirens!, so I drove the boat!) So Duane decided to give it a whirl. He is actually very, very good. I guess he just forgot how old he is, because as you can see by the swelling he jacked up his almost 37 year old ankle!

Why is it this rainy and dark when I'm driving to work in the middle of the day in June? It must be global warming!

Travis aka Dupree

So, Travis, aka Dupree, is the guy that lives in our motor home. He doesn't want to get an apartment and he wants to be a professional fisherman so he lives in our motor home and works in a bar and fishes. He really wanted to make the blog. He had to dress like a "rock star" for work and this is what he came up with. I was "upstairs" with Gracie and as soon as he put the wig on Gracie growled and flew off the bed and tried to attack him. She has NEVER done anything like that! I don't think she liked the wig, maybe it's him!

Bicycle Built For Two

We went to Newport Beach to have breakfast. It was a nice day so we sat outside...I am soooooooo glad we did. This couple thought it would be fun to rent a bicycle built for two. The poor lady could not figure it out. They came back like three times. Finally off they went and you can tell by the people watching how well it went! It went so well the bicycle renter just ran off in the direction they rode off in!

Today At The Delta - You Be the Judge

So we fished the Delta today, getting ready for the tournament on Thursday and Friday. We both had a great day, as did Travis (even though I didn't take any pics of him). Here are a few photos from out day...Remember its quantity not quality! Who do you think did better?

Jam On It

Jam On It returned to the Reno Sparks Convention Center for their annual Memorial Day Tournament - I will be marking this on my calendar for next year - to remind me NOT to work it again!

First of all it is a 12, 000 participant basketball tournament for grades 3 - 12. Most all of the teams are from the East Bay, east of San Francisco, west of the Caldacott Tunnel. Second I was working for Verizon. (Great company - I use their service) The event was so disorganized and poorly run it was amazing, Our supervisors had NO idea we were working and didn't know we needed breaks. They were odd. Then the "participants/player" were so rude and disrespectful I don't know how they get by in normal society. I have posted a picture of Alana and I happy, happy, but this is before the event began.

Is This A Ride?

Duane took me to Disney land for my 30th Birthday! Yea for Disneyland, Boo for 30! We had a great day. There are so many more rides there now. These are two we DID NOT go on!! The cage thing were you pack like sardines into the little floaty thing and it take you 10 yards across a pond, so you can hike all over a hill? NOOOO! Or the canoe thing where you have to actually paddle! NOOOO! Those "rides" suck!

Top Ten at Lake Oroville - We're Going To Disneyland!

Duane just fished the Stren at Lake Oroville. The fishing was slow and the fish were small. On day one he went out and caught a limit, but went into day two in 51st place. Middle of the pack, not bad. When he blasted off on day two he just went to fish. Because he was the first boat on day one he was the last one on day 2. Good thing he was. Duane ended up weighing in the big fish of the day and four others to catapult him into 5th place!! Amazing. No one could believe he made such a massive jump. Top Ten here he comes! On the third and final day Duane went to win. He ended up in 9th place, but cashed a check and brought home a plaque. It was a great day for him and everyone involved. Duane's mom, two brothers, niece and nephews and friends came to watch the weigh ins as did my sis, brother in law and niece. It was so much fun. Everyone was happy to be there. (The Chico State team also took 2nd in their tournament.) When Duane was on stage weighing in his fish he then wished me a happy birthday and told me we where flying to Disneyland the next day!!

In case you don't know those straps he has on is a life jacket. He has been off of his boat for at least 15 minutes, why is it still on?

After Fishing

After Duane gets bored with fishing he's going to join that mountain man competition where they run on logs, he's just practicing. Seriously though?, he did not catch a fish in there.
