I Have Some Long Days Ahead...

So Duane went to work for 3 hours tonight and guess what? He hurt his knee. Great. This is going to be fun. He insisted on putting on his own ice-bandage-wrap thingy so I insisted it was a great time to take photos. The only one happy in this situation is Gracie because she gets to lay on the couch. It's gonna be a long couple of days.

Unedited Humor

So, where to begin...I have a friend, Lizzie Keith (yes she's one of those people with two first names) she's a comedian, and she's really funny. While she's trying to make it big she's teaching aerobics at the local 24 hour fitness in Reno, anyone in her class receives their daily dose of humor, I think that's why people go to her class (well its either funny Lizzie or ever growing bigger Constellation, another instructor who keeps gaining weight). I'm telling you she is VERY funny, she makes fun of people, makes fun of herself, sings songs...you name it she does it. She is so funny one of the people in the class made her these business cards. They are hard to read on here because I have a crappy camera but this is what it says...

ALSO add her on facebook, Lizzie Keith - she has a normal friend page AND a fan page!!

I hope she doesn't think I'm stalking her because I blogged about her...she does have a few stalkers...one of them even makes her stuff!

Not A Good Sign

I got home from the gym and this is what I saw...the motor home on a jack and the gas tank in the street. I have a feeling we're not going anywhere today.

Vapor-Lock #3

We went to pick up the motor home and we vapor-locked three more times on the way home. On the side of the road (at a stop sign), at the gas pump...apparently there is a trick - if you put gas in the tank it will cool it down and make it work again - but you need to get to the pump and about 3 miles from home. We did get the Ultra home under the cool coverage of darkness.

Wolf Pack

I was driving behind the wolf pack...there are 3 wolves in this pack.

Backyard Progress

Some of you remember Duane is rebuilding the fence in the back yard. This project started about a month ago...(he has been fishing and working a lot)

During The Drive

Because I was following Duane, he was in the motor home towing the boat and I was in my car, I had a lot of time on my hands...I flossed my teeth, plucked my eyebrows, took off my nail polish and used my EYEDEWS!!!! That's why I was so relaxed and refreshed during the whole vapor-lock situation (see below).

Shopping

Once again if you are Mina, Nv and in need of rocks or tires, you're in luck! Mina has the BEST shopping, you just have to pick through it to find what you want! Happy Hunting!

ReSale Value

Duane was getting pretty pissed about the whole vapor-locking situation. He said that's it we're getting a new one...do you think that the 1)the pink floaty covered in sliver duct tape he is using instead of an arm rest or 2)the fact that you have to drive with the cowling (engine cover - this helps keep the engine out of the living space and keeps the heat trapped in the engine and when removed makes the motor home like 150 degrees) partially open, up the resale value more?

Thirsty?

If you're ever in Mina, Nv and you get thirsty and you have no money, pull into the rest stop. They have FREE drinking water!

Vapor-Lock #2

We left Lake Mead Wednesday at 5pm...we pulled into our driveway Thursday 7:30pm. We did stop to sleep, but only for 6 hours. We vapor-locked AGAIN, and when I say again I mean 4 more times. In the end we calmly emptied the Ultra, loaded my car and left it on the side of the freeway just outside of Shurz (~90 minutes outside of Reno). Of course it was a pleasant experience, the heat, a barking dog, being tired and hungry all added to the experience. We're going back to get it on Saturday...wish us luck!

Let Me Go Too

When we are in Reno we sometimes float the river in Tahoe, a few weeks ago we went and floated in Sacramento with Travis and a couple days ago it was so hot I paddle boarded and towed Duane in a tube. I guess Gracie is starting to get pissed we leave her in the motor home. We were driving to a different launch ramp for fishing and she put herself in the tube. This is not a set up...we got in the and twenty minutes later when I turned around she was in the tube. She had to have gone underneath and up because of the way it was on her. She really proved she wants to come tubing next time!

Home Repairs

Apparently there is a weight limit on the closets in the motor home. It would have been nice to know that before this happened. Oh well, at least Duane was able to fix it!

Prime Rib Night

Gracie loves bones, but she hates getting her "hands" dirty so this is how she eats them...paws spread wide apart, it takes longer, but that just means she's happier longer!

Dog Fighting

We're getting Gracie ready for her debut fight. We're bulking her up, shooting her with steroids and making her carry this chain around...we're growing a winner!! JUST KIDDING!!- DO NOT CALL ANIMAL CONTROL - THIS IS A JOKE (for all you non funny people) When we broke down due to vapor lock it was too hot to sit in the motor home so we had to leave it there, there was NO way we could leave Gracie in the heat and we didn't have a leash so the boat chain had to do! Love this dog!
